Today, Saturday, the biggest event was heading into Chinatown with Aisha and taking the beautiful picture that's featured at the top of this blog. We also familiarized ourselves with the area around The Gate more and found an awesome market, Grainger Market, that sells fresh produce in a sort of farmer's market type fashion, and also has several other stalls catering to everyday needs, like a hardware shop and the ever-so-necessary ice cream shop (photos to come, my camera battery died!).
I imagine that I'll only post about once a week from now on, or if something spectacular happens, but I wanted to post the photos I took today for you (http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/alliscott/NewcastleDay3?authkey=Mzz1cBhzYS4#).
Enjoy!

That is an amazing picture Allie! I'm so glad you are out and exploring, and finding the best places to take all of us when we come visit :) Oh, and great job with the blog, I will be checking up on it daily!
looks like you are having a good time. Glad to see that your camera is taking some great quality pictures and that you got your picasa going. keep up the bloggin, if I cant talk to you all the time its nice to see and hear about all the cool stuff your experiencing.
Alli, you should change from being an English major to a travel photographer - that is an amazing picture. Everyday you sound a little more comfortable and settled. Before you know it, you'll be right at home. But we miss you! Thanks for starting the blog because it is so nice to hear what is happening with you.
Sweet photo!!
OMG. That's gorgeous! You definitely captured the spirit of something there. I agree with jerri, you should submit the photo to some travel contest or other. *** I'm glad to hear that the English have fresh veggies.
Happy Birthday, sis! This blog is awesome. Keep it going! These stories are hilarious -- the juggernaut on the flight sounds like no fun, but then you have British Burger King (is it exactly the same as in the States?)
PS I like that the restrooms are designated "Male" and "Female" instead of "Men" and "Women." Very cool. :)
